ABOUT US
Stella
I’m Stella, I have been working with dogs professionally for 6 years. I started dog walking when i got my first dog, Diesel, he is a German Shepherd and the idea was he would come to work with me everyday, but he had other ideas. His health issues led to behavioural issues which showed me a whole new world to owning and walking a dog. It made me see that dogs don’t just need a walk, they need so much more! So I started my journey on learning about dog body language and dog training. Every dog i have walked or looked after has taught me something, and now i provide group walks, where i can add dogs that lack social skills and confidence and help them to improve.
Dog Training
As a Professional Dog Trainer for Delders Dogs i have helped hundreds of owners and their dogs. I always knew there was more i could do if i had some alone time with dogs and was able to exercise and give them the correct mental stimulation. I have never just offered a toilet break service or play dates. I see so many dog walkers offering ‘socialisation’ walks or ‘puppy play dates’ and trying to guilt trip owners into booking these services but i know how damaging to behaviour and confidence this can be. Everyone wants a dog that knows how to behave and makes them proud.
Grace
I’m Grace, and for as long as I can remember, I have wanted to work with dogs. I have always been around animals, growing up with dogs, chickens, cats and guinea pigs. When I was at school I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do as a job, so I spent my time volunteering at vets and sanctuaries which I enjoyed but realised it wasn’t the direction I wanted to take.
Education
When I left sixth form, I went to Nottingham Trent University where I achieved my degrees in Animal Science and Animal Biology. During my time here, I worked with a wide variety of animals which I loved, but always went back to the dogs. Any opportunity I had to work with them I took, including training and assessing the lecturers' dogs for them to stay in the university kennels. My favourite modules were Animal Training, Ethics and Welfare, and Anthrozoology where I explored the connection between animals and humans.
Millie
I got my dog Millie, a Miniature Schnauzer, when I was 10 years old. I would build agility courses in the garden out of old bamboo, and this started my love of training. I'd spend my time watching youtube videos on how to train dogs and seeing her learn and progress would fill me with excitement. We’ve grown up together, and as she has got older I have been able to learn about all the life stages and the challenges that come with it. As she has changed, it has allowed me to learn how to adapt what I do to keep her happy and healthy. This has helped when working with the dogs I walk. I love seeing them grow and learn, and seeing their excitement when I pick them up will never get old.
